Wantusawa Oyster Bar reopens after food poisoning issue
It looks like Oyster bar Wantusawa is back in business!
The seafood restaurant, located in Poblacion, Makati, has announced that they have officially reopened their doors to hungry customers after they temporarily closed their business following reports of food poisoning from diners.
In an Instagram post, Wantusawa wrote, "Our tables and plates were empty, but our hearts are full of gratitude to welcome you back. Thank you for your unwavering support; we can’t wait to serve you again here at Wantusawa, Poblacion, Makati!"
Wantusawa was under fire on social media last January after customers accused the restaurant of food poisoning. These diners claimed that they suffered from diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting, among others, after eating at the restaurant.
The store, on the other hand, denied the accusations in a statement released later that month, saying that they had their oysters tested in a laboratory and they turned up negative for bacteria.
On Feb. 16, the local government of Makati ordered the temporary closure of Wantusawa for sanitation violations.
The restaurant first opened in Poblacion in 2018. It offers a wide variety of seafood such as their famous Aklan Oysters, as well as their Grilled Shishamo, Crispy Tawilis, Baked Scallops, and Grilled Prawns Laksa.
