Looking for mouthwatering platters for the holidays? These small food businesses got you

Christmas is just around the corner.

While social gathering restrictions are slowly easing in the country, for some, Chtistmas parties will again be different from the usual due to the pandemic. Instead of eating in grand restaurants with our nearest and dearest, most of us have made some changes and decided to make them simpler than before. From big parties, we have opted for home celebrations with a few people in person as well as some of our distant loved ones on video call.

Will it be the same for you, too? If you’re celebrating the Yuletide season like a lot of us this year, you might want to scroll down as we’ve compiled some small food businesses offering scrumptious platters for delivery. Read on.

Sandra’s Specialties is known for its best-selling Chili Curry crabs that even some celebrities love, but trust us, its lamb shanks (P4,500/4-8 pax) could compare. The lamb shanks are seared, then stewed in red wine and demi-glace sauce for four hours. They’re best enjoyed with potato gratin that you can get for P2,250 per tray.

Up for some surf and turf? Check out Slow Burn MNL’s tempting tray that features a combination of seafood and red meat on top of some rice. The platter, which is available in two sizes (P999/2-3 pax and P1,599/4-5 pax), has smoked ribs, easy-to-peel garlic shrimps, truffle umami rice, French beans, and cherry tomatoes that make it a great addition to your Noche Buena table.

For small families who are in the mood for a variety of delights, Food Tray 2 Go’s 5-course bundle meal is a must-have. Good for 3-4 pax, it has a mix of beef/seafood/pork, chicken/fish/pork, and vegetables/pasta/noodles. Each one costs P1,699.

Japanese food, anyone? Gourmet Momma MNL’s sushi bake is taken up a notch with some chunks of filet mignon steak with truffle cream and special Japanese sauce instead of the usual California roll topping. Priced at P980/P1,480, each is served over seasoned nori rice and comes with some packs of nori.

Baked by Erika released a special menu just for Christmas, which consists of hearty dishes that are filling, but won’t break the bank. Included in its lineup are Singapore-style salted egg shrimp, pork bellychon, creamy tofu, baby back ribs in bourbon sauce, beef stroganoff, baked salmon with cream cheese, and prawn thermidor—ranging from P950 to P2,500.
