AllHome x Uratex: Promoting sustainability, eco-friendly practices

AllHome, the country’s pioneering full-line home center, and Uratex, a renowned homegrown foam brand, present the Uratex Dream Museum—a limited art exhibition that seeks not only to raise awareness on the importance of sustainability and conservation of marine resources, but also to inspire everyone to adopt eco-friendly practices in their daily lives to help reduce carbon footprint.

This is crucial as the Philippines sits in the middle of the Coral Triangle, a region recognized as the global center for marine biodiversity. However, damaging fishing practices, pollution, and other harmful human activities are threatening the surrounding waters, and may result in the possible destruction of marine biodiversity if left unchecked.

Efforts for the environment

This latest partnership dovetails with AllHome's sustainability efforts, done through AllHome Builds, the brand’s socio-corporate arm.

AllHome Builds, which seeks to address social and environmental challenges, works on sustainability projects that can help reduce carbon footprint, not only in its stores, but also within host and surrounding communities.

This collaboration with Uratex will only further boost AllHome’s continuous efforts to provide homeowners with sustainable and eco-friendly options for their dream homes.

Dream Museum

Through this collaboration between AllHome and Uratex, local artists have come together to reimagine a world that is healthy and free from plastic and pollution. 

With two unique and interactive worlds called “dream boxes,” the artists will let you “dream” while envisioning big aspirations for a world in which rich, colorful, and exotic underwater life is free from human destruction.

In the first dream box, visitors will enter an underwater utopia, where they will be left in awe by the wonders of the sea illuminated by the rays of the sun. Peer through a window to see a school of fish swimming across a wide ocean teeming with vibrant coral reefs and marine life.

In the second dream box, be enthralled by a world of innovation, where plastics are recycled into soft fabrics. Lay back and relax on fluffy and comfy bean bags while the projection screens showcase the latest in foam mattress technology.

The Uratex Dream Museum, which ran from April 22 to 26 at the Evia Lifestyle Center, also featured Uratex’s Trill Seave Collection, its latest line of products.

A greener alternative 

This newest collection, done in collaboration with Seaqual Initiative, an international movement dedicated to cleaning our oceans and seas from marine litter, makes use of a rare material called Seaqual Yarn made from recycled plastic marine waste and post-consumption PET bottles. This technology uses 100% polyester yarn.

Identical to regular virgin yarn, Seaqual Yarn is highly versatile and can be used in the manufacturing of various products, from textile apparel to household furnishings. 

To top it off, this recycled and environment-friendly material is waterproof and has high durability and strong resistance to damage. These make the yarn a perfect material for Uratex’s upcoming mattress, offering people greener and more sustainable alternatives for a good night’s rest.
