Ready your broomsticks: A new Harry Potter cafe is opening in Tokyo
It's time to dust off your Firebolt broomsticks, Potterheads. A new Harry Potter cafe is opening in Tokyo this July.
The bistro, aptly called the Wizarding World Harry Potter Cafe, will give fans a taste of Hogwarts, from its exterior and interior design to its magical food and drinks.
Located on the ground floor of Akasaka Biz Tower in Minato City, Tokyo, the must-visit dining experience could be mistaken for a store in Diagon Alley with its wooden facade and classic gothic interior design.
It features a menu with unique dishes decorated with the fantasy novels' icons, plus options to order them in your favorite Hogwarts House: Gryffindor, Slytherin, Huffle Puff, or Raven Claw.
This includes the Hogwarts Cheese Toasties (Y1,760 or P700) that, according to SoraNews24, come in four different fillings, and the Hogwarts Stew (Y1,650 or P660), which can be paired with bread or rice.
Wizards, or muggles, who would like a meaty meal can opt for the Dragon's Breath Roast Beef (Y2,420 or P964) or Owl Post Sunday Roast (Y1,980 or P800). There's also the Platform 9 ¾ Beans (Y1,100 or P440) and Professor Snape's Slimmering Cauldron Soup (Y880 or P350).
And just when you thought you must first turn into The Chosen One to catch a golden snitch, Harry Potter Cafe in Tokyo would serve it to you in a dish called Salmon Tartar with Golden Snitch (Y1,000 or P400).
Craving for something sugary? The cafe's Hedwig Cake (Y1,540 P613) will surely sweeten up your experience, not to mention your Instagram feed.
As for the drinks, Harry Potter Cafe offers mocktails—a non-alcoholic mixture of fruit juices and sodas—inspired by the Wizarding World's most commonly used spells. This includes drinks called Wingardium Leviosa, Expecto Patronum, Herbivicus, and Stupefy.
Wizarding World Harry Potter Cafe has started a soft opening on June 16, with its grand opening set for July 8. Those who would like to dine at the bistro between today and July 31 must first book a reservation on its website.
