A beer company will pay a dog $20,000 to taste test its ‘dog brew’
Your canine buddy may earn a salary more than yours if chosen for this gig.
Busch Beer is on the hunt for a dog to fulfill the role of a “Chief Tasting Officer (CTO)” for its recently launched Dog Brew.
“Being a Chief Tasting Officer is a serious job,” the company’s recruitment video said. It will be the chosen dog’s responsibility to “shepherd the great taste of Busch, research new flavors, and take on pet projects. Your bark will have to be as good as you bite.”
In short, the CTO will be a pawfessional taste-tester and he or she will be the face of the brand’s dog brew, which the company released last year. Following its release, the brand is looking at expanding this year that’s why they are looking for a CTO with a “refined palate, an outstanding sense of smell, and while not required, proficiency in English would be remarkable.”

The chosen pooch will receive a fat check of $20,000 (about P970,000), which of course is made payable to his or her owner; and benefits will include an $800 (about P39,000) pre-paid card that can be used to purchase pet insurance and 10 four-packs Busch Dog Brew.
But don’t worry, furparents, the brew is non-alcoholic! It is an all-natural that is made with pork bone broth, whole corn, celery, basil mint, turmeric and ginger.
Last year, the company donated $1 for each case of dog brew sold to an animal shelter. It also donated $25,000 to an animal rescue service and at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, the company offered a free three-month supply of beer to those who fostered or adopted a dog.

To enter, according to its official rules, fur parents have to look for Busch Beer’s post about the contest on either Facebook, Instagram or Twitter. Then, they need to post a reply with a photo of their dog and a description why their pet should become the CTO of the company. The post should include the hashtag #BuschCTOContest and the photo should be the owner’s original work and has not been previously published.
All eligible entries will be judged by an independent panel of judges based on the entry’s originality, creativity, and relevance to the contest theme. The entry that will receive the highest cumulative scores awarded by the panel will be the grand prize winner.
The contest is open to residents of the United States who are 21 years old and above. And the deadline of entries is on April 28, 2021.
