The Church of Saint Ignatius of Loyola breaks ground at Anyana in Cavite

By Jerald Uy Published Sep 06, 2024 4:00 pm

Taking part in the symbolic placement of the time capsule and pouring of sand and dirt at the event were Diocese of Imus Bishop Reynaldo Evangelista, St. Agustine-Tanza Parish Priest Father Virgilio Mendoza, Tanza Vice Mayor Archangelo “SM” Matro, Board Member Francisco Remulla, Antel Land President Felicitas Ong, Antel Land Vice President for Operations Louie Lawrence Lao, Antel Land Project Director Mary Rose Tusañeza, Antel Land Marketing Director Kendrick Lao, Tanza Municipal Administrator Tutuy Sanariz, and H1 Architecture representative Ar. Dino Canlas.

The faithful in the town of Tanza, Cavite are gifted with a new place of worship, prayers, and reflection, set to rise in Anyana, Antel Land's vast 200-hectare mixed-used development.

Stunningly designed by H1 Architecture, the Church of Saint Ignatius of Loyola is poised to be the next iconic destination in the progressing town. The spiritual heart of Anyana will be able to accommodate 300 people while utilizing natural light during daytime. It will be located at The ShopGrounds, the commercial space being developed at Anyana, adjacent to the residential area.

“It is part of a larger vision to create a vibrant, inclusive, and thriving community where everyone can flourish. It will be a sanctuary where people can come together to worship, find solace, and seek guidance,” said Kendrick Lao, Antel Land marketing director, during the groundbreaking ceremony held on July 31.

The event coincided with the Feast of Saint Ignatius de Loyola, the church’s namesake. Saint Ignatius is the patron saint of the Society of Jesus or the Jesuits, and the Military Ordinariate of the Philippines. “This is a historic moment because it is the first church named after Saint Ignatius in Tanza, Cavite,” said Diocese of Imus Bishop Reynaldo Evangelista, who led the celebration of the Holy Eucharist, underscoring that the construction of the new church will be a historic moment for Catholics in Cavite.

Antel Land Marketing Director Kendrick Lao led the groundbreaking ceremony of The Church of Saint Ignatius of Loyola in Tanza, Cavite.

Lao echoed the bishop’s pronouncement, saying that the “church will be a place where these teachings will continue to inspire and uplift, touching the lives of not just the residents of Anyana but also the wider community.”

Building the community of Anyana

The Church of Saint Ignatius of Loyola will be part of the Anyana community, a mixed-use development sprawling across Barangay Mulawin and Barangay Sanja Mayor. It will offer masses, weddings, and baptisms under the Diocese of Imus.

A stone’s throw away from the Antero Soriano Highway that leads to the Cavite Expressway, Anyana is near multiple points of interest such as malls, schools, and hospitals in the greater Cavite area as well as in other neighboring townships. Other planned infrastructure developments within the area that will greatly benefit residents include the Daang-Hari Road expansion and the Cavite-Laguna Expressway.

To the north, Anyana is 45 minutes away from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, with NAIA Expressway (NAIAX) also connecting motorists to the rest of Metro Manila. To the south, Anyana is a short drive from popular summer destinations - the vistas of Tagaytay and the beaches of Batangas.

Expect property values to rise in the coming years because of the sustained economic activity in CALABARZON, thanks to the extension of the Light Rail Transit Line 6 in Cavite and other expansions in highway infrastructure.

The development will also soon include a diverse array of retail stores, a spacious clubhouse for gatherings, and a provision for a transport terminal linking Anyana to Metro Manila and the rest of Cavite.

Apart from the aforementioned commercial lots, Anyana offers upscale residential lots, with an option to buy a lot and build their dream house later (residential lot) or get the full package that includes a house designed exclusively for Anyana (house and lot). These all seamlessly recreate the glitzy atmosphere of posh Bel-Air in Los Angeles.

Since 2021, the development has also been reaping recognitions including PropertyGuru’s Philippines Property Awards 2021 Best Housing Development in Southern Luzon for Anyana-Bel Air West.

With the Church of Saint Ignatius of Loyola set to be a beacon of hope above the spacious plaza, Anyana is developing not merely a field in Cavite, but rather a field of dreams, brimming with light and love.
