Josephine Restaurant to house new dining spot featuring heirloom recipes in Tagaytay

Sad about Josephine Restaurant’s closure? Here’s some news that might lift your spirits. 

The beloved Tagaytay restaurant’s legacy will be continued as it’s set to house a new dining spot where Filipino families can strengthen their ties over heirloom recipes and more. 

In a Facebook post on Tuesday, Jan. 17, the Vikings Group of Restaurants announced that the OG restaurant’s former location will house a new dining place dubbed ROSARIO. 

According to the food group, the new food spot “will excite food enthusiasts and Tagaytay City’s tourists and locals as it journeys to become one of the best homes for Filipino cuisines and traditional Filipino comfort food from different regions in the country.” 

ROSARIO will highlight heirloom recipes made using fresh ingredients and crafted in traditional ways that are meant to spark “happy memories of huge gatherings around the family dinner table.” 

Josephine Restaurant closed its doors on Jan. 1.

In a Dec. 30 Facebook post, one of the staff expressed his gratitude to all the customers who made Josephine Restaurant Tagaytay a part of their lives for nearly 27 years. He also gave a special mention to its employees for their hard work and loyalty throughout its run. “Josephine Restaurant Tagaytay is now signing off,” he continued. 

Nestled along General E. Aguinaldo Highway, Maharlika West, Tagaytay City, Josephine Restaurant became loved for its hearty dishes like paella, pancit, and bulalo that diners enjoyed, overlooking a spectacular view of the Taal Volcano. It also had a spacious garden, which became a venue for weddings and other events where treasured memories were made.
