LIST: Meat-free food specials to enjoy this Lenten season

Lenten season, a time when Catholics and Christians prepare to commemorate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, is here. Fasting and abstinence from meat are just some of the common practices followed throughout the season.  

If you're giving up meat this Lent, it doesn't mean you have to sacrifice your favorite meals! Here is a list of food items that serve delectable seafood and vegetable food for you to enjoy.

RACKS Seafood Specials

For the Lenten season, RACKS is offering a variety of seafood dishes that will let you taste the flavors of the sea. This special includes the Fritto Misto (P375/P695), a crispy fried mingle of different seafood and vegetables along with a tangy remoulade dip; Lemon Garlic Shrimp Plate (P415), a shrimp dish dipped in lemon garlic butter sauce; Cajun Shrimp Alfredo (P415), shrimp stirred in creamy alfredo sauce fused with Cajun spice; and Zesty Lemon Calamari (P345), crunchy calamari rings splashed with tangy lemon zest along with lemon garlic aioli dip.

RACKS also offers set meals to share with family or a group with their Lenten Family Platter. This platter includes two London-style fish with tartar sauce and a sizable serving of their Fritto Misto, a green and healthy House Salad to share, a solo serving of Garlic Scampi, a flavorful platter of Java rice, and a refreshing pitcher of House Blend iced tea for only P2,795.

Manam’s #MeatlessMoment

Craving classic Filipino favorites but most of them contain meat? Worry no more as Manam’s #MeatlessMoment leveled up their old-time favorites minus the meat!

For P355 you can already avail Manam’s Kare-Kare with Shiitake mushroom and tofu as an alternative for meat. 

Fancy something green, healthy, and at the same time savory? Try the Crispy Lumpiang Ubod and Hoy Gising Gising! (P155) Their Crispy Lumpiang Ubod (P150), meanwhile, is deep-fried to perfection and will surely make you enjoy that crunch in every bite.

And if you need something to warm your stomach, get the Laksa-style Halaan soup with seafood and clams amalgamated with crunchy Sili leaves and corn.

More shrimp dishes such as their tender Camaron Rebosado for P250 and their creamy Shrimp Bicol Express for P235 are also available.

Pizza Hut’s meat-free combos

These days, we're all for getting our money's worth, so Pizza Hut’s Seafood Lunch deals are something not to miss.

Available every day until 2 p.m., Pizza Hut’s Seafood Lunch Vibes, which costs P699 for a set for 2 people, includes regular Seafood Supreme Mega Crunch pizza, a plate of Pasta Shrimp Arrabbiata, a serving of mozzarella sticks, and two glasses of thirst-quelching ice-cold Pepsi.  

Solo lunches are never lonely as long as it is accompanied by good food at a good price. Pizza Hut’s Seafood Lunch Set A includes one serving of pasta – either Shrimp Arrabbiata or Shrimp Ala King, while Seafood Lunch Set B lets you choose between Cheese Lovers pan pizza or Veggie Lovers pan pizza along with two healthy salad rolls of your choice. This set is exclusive for dine-in customers. Each set includes a glass of soda.

You can enjoy their Seafood Pizza Pair which includes a pan of Mega Crunch Pizza and a Cheese Lovers Pizza all day for only P599 and P899.

Kenny Rogers’ Crispy Fish Fillet Sandwich

Kenny Rogers is more than just their roast offerings! The Crispy Fish Fillet is topped with tangy tartar sauce and garden-fresh romaine lettuce and tomatoes that perfectly complement a pair of warm and golden-brown buns for only P250. Make it a meal with chips and a drink for P285.
