The National Museum of the Philippines reopens on Oct. 19 to fully vaccinated visitors
The National Museum of the Philippines (NMP) is set to reopen its doors to the public on Oct. 19. Visitors are required to show proof of vaccination and pre-register to visit.
Following the National Capital Region’s shift to a more relaxed Alert Level 3 status until Oct. 31, the National Museum announced on its Facebook page that it will resume operations at limited capacity.
The NMP operates the National Museum of Fine Arts, National Museum of Anthropology and National Museum of Natural History, which are located in the city of Manila.
In its announcement, the NMP said that only persons who are fully vaccinated will be admitted to its museums. Proof of identification and vaccination are required upon entry.
Visitors are also required to pre-register online at least a day before their intended visit. Walk-ins will not be accommodated.
To book a slot, visit www.nationalmuseum.gov.ph and click the option “Book a Tour” on the upper right corner of the page. It allows individual reservations, and group reservations that are limited to only five persons each group. Booking confirmation will be sent through e-mail.
There are two sessions to choose from every day (except Mondays, when the museums is closed):
• 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. (AM session, with cut-off time at 11 a.m.)
• 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. (PM session, with cut-off time at 3 p.m.)
Only 100 visitors are allowed per museum, per session.
Following the guidelines set by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases Resolutions (IATF), the NMP will follow strict protocols in its museums.
Temperature scan is required upon entry in each building. Those with temperature of 37.5 and above will not be admitted. Visitors that are exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms will also not be allowed entry to the museums.
A health declaration form must be filled out by visitors before entering the museums, which may be done through the StaySafe app.
Visitors are to wear face masks and face shields at all times inside the museums. Proper social distancing measures will still be implemented.
