LOOK: Tokyo's new 'Stranger Things' cafe offers foodies a trip to the Upside Down
Stranger Things fans, you no longer have to look for a parallel universe to get to the Upside Down. All you have to do now is book a flight to Tokyo!
A new Stranger Things-inspired pop-up café has opened in the vibrant district of Shibuya and it's set to take you to Hawkins, Indiana. The diner has interiors recreaing popular shops and sets from the show, including the Byers' living room, Scoops Ahoy, the Starcourt neon signage, and the front end of the Surfer Boy Pizza van.
Hang out and munch on creative dishes that take after the show, such as Eleven's waffles, a squid-ink pasta that's made to resemble Demogorgon's head, and Dark Side Mocha frappe.
Liven up the experience by rocking on to Kate's Bush song, Running Up That Hill, and other 80s tunes playing in the diner. Don’t miss the chance to have a photo-op with the Demogorgon too!
Netflix’s Stranger Things released its fourth season in May, earning more than 930 million hours watched by viewers worldwide in the first 28 days.
This collaboration with Japanese coffee chain Pronto will run until the end of December this year. International tourists who would like to visit the cafe can only enter Japan as part of a group on a guided package tour organized by a travel agency accredited by the country.
