‘Sana all’: Single government employees in Quezon town to get triple pay this Valentine’s
What a time to be a single government worker in Quezon Province.
Municipal Mayor Matt Florido recently announced that single government employees at the Municipality of General Luna in Quezon Province will be entitled to triple pay on Feb. 14, Valentine’s Day.
“Kanina sa flag ceremony ay pormal nating inanunsyo na ngayong darating na Araw ng mga Puso ay triple pay ang lahat ng mga empleyado na single since birth at mga walang jowa for five years,” Florido wrote in a Facebook post on Monday, Feb. 6.
“Samantala, ang mga single naman ay maaaring makapamili kung double pay (kapag sila ay pumasok sa Feb. 14) or leave with pay sa Feb. 13 ang kanilang i-avail para mag-enjoy sila sa long weekend,” he added.
If qualified, single government workers of Quezon town would need to submit an application to the Mayor’s Office or the Human Resource Management Office. “Mahalaga ang katapatan,” he stressed after adding that each application will be validated by a “special committee.”
Florido noted that the additional pay will be coming from his own pocket and not the funds of the government.
The government official’s post gained various reactions and comments on social media.
“Qualified na qualified po ako diyan,” a social media user commented.
“Kasali po ba kayo sa triple pay, mayor?” another one joked.
The majority of netizens who came across the post had one thing to say: "Sana all."
