Teen allegedly used Grindr as ‘hunting ground’ to find gay men to kill and eat

You matched with someone from a dating app and you both decided to go on your first date. But it turns out, your match is that date from hell.
Chance Seneca of La Fayette, Louisiana faces a slew of charges after federal investigators say he confessed to nearly killing an 18-year-old man he met on dating app, Grindr, in June 2020.
He also attempted to kidnap one man and successfully kidnapped two other men, which was not detailed in the Department of Justice’s release.
According to the federal criminal complaint, 19-year-old Seneca said he met Holden White on Grindr and transitioned to communicating with him over Snapchat.
After one month of conversing, they decided to meet and arranged to hang out in the house of Seneca’s father, who was “off shore” at the time.
In the criminal complaint, Seneca said he used Grindr to lure White to his father’s house and used the dating app as his “hunting ground.” He also disclosed that he went on Amazon to purchase several items that he used in the course of his attempted murder.
Seneca told investigators that upon arrival at his father’s home, he convinced White to put on handcuffs and proposed a sexual encounter. Once inside the bathroom, Seneca strangled White until he was unconscious.
Seneca then placed White’s body in the bathtub and started to slit the wrist down to the bone. Seneca said he hoped to “remove and preserve” White’s hands but upon seeing the exposed bone and flesh, Seneca started crying during the attack and told himself “not to bitch out.”
White, who survived the ordeal, told The Acadiana Advocate that as Seneca was attacking him, he regained consciousness and believed that he was going to die.
“He was just staring at me with a fearful look in his face, like an ‘I just did this?’ look. I was laying in the bathtub, naked, bleeding out, the water red and cold, and I remember thinking, ‘Well, this is it’,” said White.
Seneca eventually changed his mind upon seeing White’s condition and called 911. Seneca was later on arrested.
Speaking with KLFY-TV in January, White said he was in a coma for three days following the attack and remained in the hospital for about a month. He has since regained the use of his hand after undergoing physical therapy.
Seneca allegedly wanted to keep parts of his victim’s body as trophies, mementos and food, according to the Department of Justice.
According to Metro Weekly, Seneca used a photo of infamous serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer as his profile picture on his Facebook account for several months. Dahmer is known to have dismembered and ate some of his victims—all men and boys—in the ‘70s to the early ‘90s.
Seneca was recently indicted and charged in federal court for charges including hate crime, kidnapping, and possession of a firearm. He is jailed with a $250,000 bond and if convicted, he faces a possible life sentence.
