Great Britain has found its Miss Universe queen in Filipino-British beauty Christina Dela Cruz Chalk!

During the pageant's grand coronation night on July 6, Chalk emerged victorious against 42 other finalists to become the country's representative for the upcoming 73rd Miss Universe competition.

In an Instagram post, the 31-year-old beauty queen shared how July 6 was the "day [her] dream came true."

"Many know this wasn’t my first, second, or even third attempt at Miss Universe Great Britain. I loved making friends for life with the most empowered women in the UK," she wrote.

"Whilst I was proud to be 1st runner-up twice, I was relieved when I aged out… with so many ups and downs I felt it was time to move on. However, when Miss Universe lifted their age restrictions, I knew there was unfinished business. I’m glad I followed my heart," she continued.

She went on to express her appreciation to those who helped her in her pageant journey and gave a shoutout to her fellow aspirants, praising them for "an amazing weekend together" and how she is inspired by them all.

"Finally, to my family, friends, and fiancé for your unwavering support throughout the years. Special thanks to my incredible mum who is always there no matter what and my sister Jasmine. You’re not only the most incredible makeup artist, but my best friend and partner in crime. I couldn’t imagine this journey without you," Chalk wrote.

"Here’s to never giving up on yourself or your dreams," she ended.

Chalk was born and raised in the Philippines but eventually moved to the UK at a young age. According to her profile on Miss Universe Great Britain's Instagram page, her family is said to have "nurtured her passions for dancing and singing while instilling in her a curiosity for diverse cultures."

Chalk previously served as the UK's representative during the Miss Universe Philippines coronation night held back in May. She finished in the Top 20 of the competition, which was won by Chelsea Manalo of Bulacan.

She is now set to compete on the global stage of Miss Universe which will be held in Mexico.
