PSA: Singapore's Ministry of Education is offering scholarships for Filipino students
Looking for opportunities to study abroad? Singapore's Ministry of Education opens ASEAN Scholarship for Filipino students who want to take up their schooling in the bustling country.
Applications for the scholarship have already started on March 15 and are open until May 13. To apply, Filipino students must be between 12 and 18 years old, currently in Grade 9 or above, and proficient in English. Aspirants must also have done consistently well in school examinations and have a good record of participation in Co-curricular activities.
The ASEAN Scholarship offered to the student will last for four years from Secondary 3 to Pre-University 2 studies and will be renewed each year based on the student's performance in school.
Secondary 3 is typically entered by kids aged 15 while Pre-University includes junior colleges for two-year or three-year courses.
The scholarship covers benefits including annual allowance with hostel accommodation, settling-in allowance, return economy airfare, school fees, examination fees for GCE O-Level and A-Level, medical benefits, and insurance coverage in case of accidents.
Shortlisted candidates will be called to attend selection tests and interviews in Manila from July to August 2022. By October, the MOE will award the scholarships to successful applicants via email, and they are scheduled to fly to Singapore by the end of the month.
