Spectators may stay along the parade route to welcome the athletes as they raise the Philippine flag, the city government said.

Motorists, meanwhile, are highly advised to take alternate routes before and during the parade to avoid traffic.

The city said there will also be ambulance standby points in the following areas:

Meanwhile, a homecoming parade is set to welcome the Filipino athletes who competed at the 2024 Paris Olympics on Aug. 13. It will begin at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) and end at the Malacañang Palace.

Yulo is the second Filipino athlete to ever win a gold medal at the Olympics after weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

The government and several businesses have pledged cash and in-kind rewards for Yulo following his achievement.

Manila also pledged P2 million to Yulo, who grew up in Malate.

It also vowed to give pole vaulter EJ Obiena, a Tondo resident, P500,000 for placing fourth in the competition.
