A man passed away in the middle of his flight from Dhaka to Hong Kong

According to a report by South China Morning Post, Cathay Pacific confirmed that the 47-year-old passenger from Bangladesh died after collapsing on flight CX662 earlier this week. The airline said he was found unconscious during a final check before the plane landed at its intended destination.

Cathay Pacific also offered their "heartfelt condolences" to the man's family in a statement.

HK authorities responded to a report on the matter around 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 18, a few minutes after the aircraft arrived in HK at 7:49 a.m. after it departed from Dhaka at 2:00 a.m.

The man was declared dead at the scene, per local police. An autopsy will be done to determine what caused his death.

An investigation on the matter is ongoing.

This comes just a few weeks after a 71-year-old man from Germany died mid-flight from Hong Kong to Mumbai. He collapsed before the plane took off and was declared dead after being sent to a nearby hospital.

The Hong Kong Aircrew Officers Association reminded travelers to make sure to let the cabin crew know if they're not feeling well.
