Canva announces campus edition for students in the Philippines and elsewhere

Published Mar 08, 2023 4:00 pm

Graphic design platform Canva will have an edition catering to colleges and universities in the Philippines and elsewhere.

Under Canva for Campus, students all over the world will have free access to Canva as educational institutions can purchase licenses for their staff. Only staff accounts will have to pay for the subscription, which will benefit the student population.

Canva, known for its simple drag-and-drop user interface, contains a vast range of templates for presentations, social media graphics, posters, apparel to videos, as well as huge library of fonts, stock photography, illustrations, video footage, and audio clips.

Through these, students may create stunning and informative assignments, résumés, and portfolios with ease.

By the same token, educators can make their lesson plans more engaging.

Canva may also be used with popular learning tools like Microsoft Teams, Canvas, Blackboard, and Brightspace, whether in a hybrid or distance learning setup.

The school's marketing teams may also use Canva for Campus especially for templates for newsletters, social media posts and student enrollment materials. Helpful features include Brand Kits, which can be a one-stop stop for fonts, colors, logos, and premade templates.

Cameron Adams, Canva co-founder and chief product officer, in a press release said it's a high time for classrooms worldwide to embrace digital and design literacy.

Canva Philippines country manager Yani Hornilla-Donato, meanwhile, said creativity and collaboration are more crucial than ever in school, especially for university students.

"[W]e are excited to see how it will empower Filipino college students as they step into their future careers," Hornilla-Donato said.

Canva is available on desktop, web, iOS, and Android.
