What to expect at the Maginhawa Summer Fest 2024
We're at the height of summer, and plenty of outdoor activities happening in the metro this season are to be expected.
Following the success of the Maginhawa Arts and Food Festival last December 2023, the Maginhawa Food Community has organized another festival, which will be held on Sunday, May 5, from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m. along Maginhawa St.
The event, which is open to everybody for free, will feature various food and non-food businesses, exciting song and dance performances, and fun games and challenges for everyone. Here’s what you should expect at the upcoming event.
Food street
As one of the primary food destinations in Metro Manila, Maginhawa can't have a festival without boasting the collection of grubs they offer. From street food spots to fancy restaurants, the variety will surely make any foodie’s heart fulfilled. So, make sure you have your tummy and your wallets ready!
Summer shopping
Aside from the food, patrons and enthusiasts flock to Maginhawa for the art with many art merchants having their own stalls to showcase their crafts. Prepare your list of summer essentials and wants, because you might be able to find them there!
Summer bops
What's a festival without music? Famous Taylor Swift impersonator, Taylor Sheesh, will be gracing the stage, along with musical acts like Dionela, Magiliw Street, ACT, Vanessa Mendoza, and Nicole Abuda. You can also jump along to an all-vinyl set from DJs Slow Cook’s X.Paras and Vinylboy1994 held in the afternoon.
Dance party
Stay fit while you party as Anytime Fitness Maginhawa will be holding a Zumba segment for everyone. Right after the session, you can watch groups battle it out to the latest summer beats in a fierce dance competition.
Aside from the food and music, you can also expect fun contests where you can win surprising prizes. Don’t forget to bring cash, your energy, and sunscreen, of course!
