'It's Your Lucky Day' to replace 'It's Showtime' during 12-day suspension starting Oct. 14

A new variety program is replacing ABS-CBN's It's Showtime, as the noontime program serves the 12-day suspension imposed by the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) on the show.

Titled It's Your Lucky Day, the new variety show will air during the afternoon timeslot of It's Showtime, from Oct. 14 to 27 on the Kapamilya Channel, A2Z, and GTV.

ABS-CBN announced the new show in a statement released on Oct. 11, saying, "Ang pinakabagong game variety show ng Pilipinas na 'It's Your Lucky Day' ang pansamantalang papalit sa 'It's Showtime.'"

According to the media company, the new show will feature fresh game-and-variety segments which will be hosted by Luis Manzano, Robi Domingo, Jennica Garcia, and Melai Cantiveros.

"Inaanyayahan namin ang mga manonood na patuluyun ang swerte sa kanilang mga tahanan at makisaya kasama ang buong pamilya sa 'It's Your Lucky Day.'" the statement concluded.

In a separate post on Oct. 13, ABS-CBN urged fans to watch the new noontime program live and tag along 20 or more people, aged 18 years old and above, to be part of its audience.

On the same day, It's Showtime temporarily bid goodbye to its "Madlang Pipol" before it goes off the air for its 12-day suspension. All of the show's hosts were on stage at that time except for Vice Ganda and Ion Perez.

Vhong Navarro spoke on behalf of the group, encouraging viewers to support It's Your Lucky Day and to do likewise for the return of It's Showtime on Oct. 28.

"At kami naman po sa aming pagbabalik Oct. 28. Kaya Madlang Pipol, mami-miss namin kayo. We'll be right back pero mabilis lang yan. Kita-kita tayo uli. This is our show, our time, It's Showtime," Vhong and fellow hosts ended the program.

Vice and Ion, on the other hand, were present during the show, with the "Unkabogable Star" hosting its "Little Miss U" segment.

MTRCB issued the suspension order to It's Showtime on Sept. 4 after receiving multiple complaints concerning the show's July 25 episode, where Vice and Ion allegedly “acted in an indecent manner” during its "Isip Bata" segment.

The show's producer, ABS-CBN Corporation, on the same day, retaliated with a Motion for Reconsideration on the belief that "there was no violation of pertinent law."

Three weeks later, on Sept. 28, MTRCB denied GMA Network and ABS-CBN's Motion for Reconsideration, with MTRCB chairman Lala Sotto previously stating that the media companies did not follow through with a discussion with the board during the 15-day period it has granted them.

On the same day, ABS-CBN released a statement saying that it is "exploring all remedies and options" with regards to the suspension of It's Showtime.

However, the media company announced that it has decided to yield to the agency's decision to temporarily suspend It's Showtime on Oct. 6.
