Pope Francis to lead Mass at the Vatican for PH’s 500th year of Christianity on Sunday
Pope Francis is set to lead Mass at the Vatican in celebration of the Philippines’ 500th year of Christianity this Sunday, March 14.
Held at St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome, the Mass will be attended by Cardinal Luis Tagle and Cardinal Angelo De Donatis, the pope’s vicar in Rome, along with Filipino seminarians and clergymen.
The celebration will be broadcast live at 10:00 AM Rome time, or 5:00 PM in the Philippines, at the 500 Years of Christianity (500YOC) official website and Facebook page.
The Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines will also be live-streaming the Holy Eucharist through the Facebook pages of CBCP News, Visita Iglesia, Saint Pedro Calungsod, and CBCP Online Radio.
Pope Francis led Simbang Gabi with the Filipino community in Rome in 2019, where he called on OFWs to “continue to be smugglers of the faith”.
He also had a five-day visit to the country in 2015, two years after his Papal inauguration.
