Man faces 45 years for Jeffrey Dahmer-style kidnapping, dismembering attempt, and cannibalism 'fantasy'
An American is facing 45 years in federal prison after kidnapping a gay man he met on a dating app and tried to dismember him, as well as "fantasized" about eating him, Jeffrey Dahmer style.
People reported that Chance Seneca, 21, is running a "months-long scheme" to find and murder LGBTQ individuals, according to the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ).
Seneca's plan began in 2020, when he used Grindr to find somebody to kill and dismember. When he connected with "H.W.," he arranged a meeting, then drove H.W. to an isolated house, put him in handcuffs, and threatened him with a gun, the DOJ said.
Seneca tried to kill and dismember H.W., using "several methods to attempt to murder him." He left upon believing that H.W. was already dead.
But when authorities questioned him, Seneca said he fantasized about killing and eating gay men like Dahmer had done, People reported. He said he also planned to keep on killing until he gets caught or killed himself.
Aside from his federal case, Seneca is facing an attempted second-degree murder charge in state court.
H.W., meanwhile, said he's "staying strong" after what happened.
Dahmer was a serial killer, cannibal, and rapist who was (in)famously depicted in Netflix's viral miniseries DAHMER - Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story.
Dahmer, portrayed by Evan Peters in the miniseries, notoriously raped, murdered, and dismembered 17 men and boys—while also eating some of them—between 1978 and 1991.
He committed his crimes in his very own residence on Apartment 213 at 924 North 25th Street in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It's where he also kept his victims' bodies.
He was arrested in July 1991, and in the following year, was handed 16 life sentences for his crimes. On Nov. 28, 1994, Dahmer met his end after a fellow inmate beat him to death.
Family members of Dahmer's victims have criticized the miniseries, saying it's "retraumatizing" them.
