Sen. Gatchalian releases papers suspecting Alice Guo was born in China

Senator Sherwin "Win" Gatchalian suspects that a certain "Guo Hua Ping" is suspended Bamban Mayor Alice Guo.

Gatchalian shared a new document with reporters of a Chinese passport and Special Investors Resident Visa (SIRV) of the said identity from the Board of Investments and Bureau of Immigration.

Both documents list Guo Hua Ping's nationality as Chinese.

"Alice Guo might be Guo Hua Ping who entered the Philippines on January 12, 2003 when she was 13 years old. Her real birth date is on August 31, 1990," the senator told reporters as per GMA News.

He added that the registered mother on the SIRV is Lin Wenyi. In May, Gatchalian shared that based on his investigation, Lin was introduced to the people of Valenzuela as the mayor's mother, contrary to her claims that her mother was helper Amelia Leal Guo. Sen. Risa Hontiveros also provided supporting documents on Lin.

“This is according to documents provided by the Board of Investments from the Guo family's application for Special Investors Resident Visa (SIRV) and the Bureau of Immigration. Guo Hua Ping's registered mother under the SIRV is Lin Wenyi.”

Unlike the passport and SIRV, Guo's birth certificate claimed that she was born in the Philippines in 1986 to Filipino parents Angelito Guo and Amelia Leal. However, as Hontiveros cited from the Philippine Statistics Authority before, the mayor's parents have no record of marriage or birth records.

Guo was slapped with a preventative suspension by the Office of the Ombudsman on June 3 following a complaint by the Department of Interior and Local Government over her alleged involvement in Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO).

On June 18, she wrote to Malacañang appealing for a "fair probe."
