Miss World PH 2021 Tracy Maureen Perez gives speech about her advocacy alongside single mothers from her community

Before turning over her crown to a new queen, reigning queen Tracy Maureen Perez graced the Miss World Philippines stage to give her last address at this year's coronation night.

Wearing a striking yellow ballgown with sweetheart cut bodice, Tracy talked about how the Miss World Philippines organization has helped her create a platform for her advocacy, Para Kay Nanay.

"I am here on this very stage tonight, not as your Miss World Philippines, but as a proud daughter of a solo parent," she started.

"Growing up with just my Mommy Chona, I saw how beautiful our little family was. But I also saw how hard she was trying to endure, to hide all the tears, the struggles, the heartbreak. And from then on I vowed, I promised myself that one day I will take away all the pain.

"But you know what? I never got the chance to and I never will. Because unfortunately 11 years ago, I already lost her at a young age. I was lost. I was devastated. I didn't know what to do.

"But in my journey through healing, I realized that me loving her and me honoring her memories should not stop there. And that is how my Beauty with a Purpose project came to life.

"And I'm very fortunate to have here with me some of the solo parents that I'm close with from my community in Cebu. It was my great honor to say that they are seen. They are heard. And I think my mom is  very very happy too if she were still alive. So I hope you join me in this fight in fighting for our mothers, because fighting for them is equally important."

The Miss World Philippines 2022 finals night is held on June 5 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
