Buckingham Palace releases official photos of King Charles III and Queen Camilla
The official photos taken after King Charles III and Queen Camilla's coronation have been released, along with a message from the King.
British photographer Hugo Burnand took pictures of the royal couple at the Buckingham Palace, which shows the King and Queen in full regalia.
One portrait shows King Charles III sitting on King George V's 1902 throne chair with his full regalia on: the Robe of Estate and the Imperial State Crown while holding the Sovereign's Orb and Sovereign's Sceptre with Cross.
For the Queen's portrait, she was photographed in her coronation gown by designer Bruce Oldfield, Queen Mary's Crown, and Robe of Estate.
Senior members of the royal family also joined them for another photo session. Included in the photo are his son and daughter-law, William, The Prince and Catherine, Princess of Wales; Anne, The Royal Princess; Prince Edward, The Duke of Kent; Birigitte, The Duchess of Gloucester; Prince Richard, The Duke of Gloucester; Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence; Sophie, The Duchess of Edinburgh; Princess Alexandra; Prince Edward, The Duke of Edinburgh.
In addition to the photos, the couple extended their "most sincere and heartfelt thanks" to the public.
"As the Coronation weekend draws to a close, my wife and I just wanted to share our most sincere and heartfelt thanks to all those who have helped to make this such a special occasion," the King said.
He went on to thank those who had "given their time and dedication" to ensure that the momentous event was "happy, safe and enjoyable as possible."
"To those who joined in the celebrations - whether at home, at street parties and lunches, or by volunteering in communities - we thank you, each and every one.
"To know that we have your support and encouragement, and to witness your kindness expressed in so many different ways, has been the greatest possible Coronation gift, as we now rededicate our lives to serving the people of the United Kingdom, the Realms and Commonwealth."
On May 6, King Charles III was crowned at the Westminster Abbey, officially making him the head of state.
