LIST: Road closures, rerouting, parking spots near Manila North and South Cemeteries for Undas 2024
The city of Manila has announced road closures near Manila North Cemetery and Manila South Cemetery in observance of All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day or Undas.
On Facebook, the city government said the following roads near Manila North Cemetery are closed from Oct. 30, 12:01 a.m., to Nov. 3, 7 p.m.:
- Stretch of Aurora Blvd. from Dimasalang Road to Rizal Avenue
- Stretch of Blumentritt Road from A. Bonifacio Road to P. Guevarra Street
- Stretch of Retiro Street. from Dimasalang Road to Blumentritt Extension
- Stretch of Maceda Street from Makiling Street to Dimasalang Road
- Stretch of Dimasalang Road from Makiling Street to Blumentritt Road
- Stretch of P. Guevarra Street from Cavite Street to Aurora Boulevard
It also shared a rerouting scheme for motorists.
Those visiting La Loma Cemetery and Chinese Cemetery must take the stretch of Rizal Ave. or J. Abad Santos Ave. as their point of entrance or exit and vice versa.
All vehicles coming from Blumentritt shall turn left to Cavite Street or right to Cavite Street, then turn right to Leonor Rivera to the point of destination.
All trailer trucks or heavy vehicles coming from A.H. Lacson Avenue intending to use Dimasalang Road shall go straight to Yuseco Street to the point of destination, and vice versa)
All vehicles coming from Dimasalang Road intending to use Blumentritt Road shall turn right to Makiling Street, then straight to Blumentritt Extension to the point of destination.
Manila North Cemetery will also be closed to private vehicles, and may instead park along the following locations:
- P. Guevarra Street, from Blumentritt Road to Aurora Boulevard
- F. Huertas Street, from Blumentritt Road to Aurora Boulevard
- Oroquieta Street, from Blumentritt Road to Aurora Boulevard
- Simoun Street, from Dimasalang Road to Blumentritt Street
As for Manila South Cemetery, the city government in another post, said the following roads will be closed from Oct. 31, 12:01 a.m., to Nov. 2, 12 a.m.:
- Kalayaan Avenue – Section from Zapote Street to N. Garcia Street; closed to traffic and designated for pedestrian use only
- South Avenue – Section from J.P. Avenue to Metropolitan Avenue; closed to traffic and designated for pedestrian use only.
- Vito Cruz Avenue Extension – Section from South Avenue to Zapote Street; closed to traffic and designated for pedestrian use only.
- Pililla Street – Section from Kalayaan Avenue to Baler Street; closed to traffic and designated for pedestrian use, with access only to designated parking areas
As for the rerouting scheme on J.P. Rizal Avenue, the path from Makati Avenue to Pasong Tirad Street has been temporarily converted to a two-way traffic flow.
For Zapote Street, the path from J.P. Rizal Avenue to Metropolitan Avenue has been temporarily converted to a two-way traffic flow.
For Vito Cruz Avenue Extension, the path from Pasong Tamo Avenue to Zapote Street has been converted to a one-way eastward toward the Manila South Cemetery. A side (north side curb) will be designated as a parking area.
For Metropolitan Avenue, the path from South Avenue to N. Garcia Street has been converted to one-way traffic. A side (north side curb) will be designated as a parking area.
Parking is available on the following locations as Manila South Cemetery is closed to private vehicles:
- Kalayaan Avenue 1 – From N. Garcia Street to Pililla Street (north side curb)
- Kalayaan Avenue 2 – From N. Garcia Street to F. Zobel Street (north side curb)
- Candelaria Street – From N. Garcia Street to Pililla Street (south side curb)
- Metropolitan Avenue – From South Avenue to SM Jazz Mall access road or Jupiter Street (north side curb)
- Ecoville Road/Meralco Frontage – West side curb beside the tricycle terminal
The Manila government also shared a list of unofficial parking spots, like:
- Baler Street and Milagros Street – From N. Garcia Street to Pililla Street (access via N. Garcia Street and Pililla Street)
- M. Unidos Street and Visita Street – From Yague Street to Vito Cruz Extension (access via Zapote Street and Kakarong Street)
- Panama Street and Suez Street – From Zapote Street to Kakarong Street (access via Zapote Street and Kakarong Street)
