Man gets trapped in plane's comfort room for almost the entire flight
What a flight! A man spent almost his entire flight stuck inside the comfort room of the aircraft.
According to local media, SpiceJet confirmed the incident in a statement, saying that the passenger "got stuck inside the lavatory for about an hour."
Shortly after takeoff for his flight from Mumbai to Bengaluru in India, the man went to the comfort room and wasn't able to leave as soon as he was done using it. Explaining what happened, SpiceJet said the door had a problem with its lock so it trapped the unnamed flyer inside the bathroom mid-flight.
Crew members gave him a letter through the door to tell him to stay calm.
"Sir we tried our best to open the door, however, we could not," the note read. "Do not panic. We are landing in a few minutes, so please close the commode lid and sit on it and secure yourself. As soon as the main door is open, an engineer will come."
Upon landing, two engineers opened the locked door by breaking it. The passenger was immediately provided with medical support when he got out of the plane.
SpiceJet offered him a full refund for the inconveniece their plane door caused.
"SpiceJet regrets and apologizes for the inconvenience caused to the passenger," the budget airline said.
