Celebrity photographer Raymund Isaac passes away at 58
Celebrity and fashion photographer Raymund Isaac died on Saturday, Sept. 4 due to COVID-19 complications.
Edward Isaac, Raymund's brother, shared news of his passing on social media late Saturday night.
“To those who prayed with us in different parts of the world for Raymund, thank you,” he wrote. “He will be missed by many, most of our family and those he touched.”
The 58-year-old lensman, who was on vacation in the US, was rushed to a hospital in San Francisco, California in July where he and his partner Jayson Vicente got married.
Vicente posted updates in August, saying the photographer was transferred to the intensive care unit (ICU) earlier in the month. His post on Aug. 28 mentioned that Isaac was stable but remained intubated and sedated.
"My beloved husband, now my Guardian Angel," Vicente wrote on Instagram as he posted about Isaac's passing.
Celebrities paid tribute to the late photographer on social media. Heart Evangelista, Luis Manzano, Gabbi Garcia, Zsazsa Padilla, and more expressed their condolences for Isaac.
Lea Salonga tweeted photos with Isaac from 2007 and 2020. "I love you, Raymund, and thank you for your kindness through the years. Condolences to Jayson Vicente and the whole Isaac clan. I hold you all in my heart."

Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach shared that Isaac was the first photographer she worked with.
"I was 11 years old and it was for a teen cosmetics brand of Avon. I learned so much from him. Did a whole day shoot and I fell in love with modeling," she commented on the lensman's last Instagram post.
"You're always so welcoming, hospitable, and generous. I always have so much fun whenever our shoots are at your studio. You make it exciting, fun, and easy. Thank you for sharing your heart with so many of us ❤️," Wurtzbach wrote.
A veteran photographer, Isaac started out shooting fashion editorials, then beauty and advertising.
He is known as the first celebrity photographer in the country with 36 years of experience behind the lens, photographing showbiz stars like Vilma Santos, Piolo Pascual, Lea Salonga, and Judy Ann Santos.
Isaac also wrote a book in 2017 titled The Good Photographer and created content for his YouTube channel.
