'Chilling Adventures of Sabrina' star Chance Perdomo dies at 27
Afro-Latino actor star Chance Perdomo has died due to a motorcycle accident. He was 27.
Perdomo's publicist confirmed his passing to Variety, adding that no other individuals were involved in the accident.
"It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of Chance Perdomo's untimely passing as a result of a motorcycle accident. Authorities have advised that no other individuals were involved," the statement read.
"His passion for the arts and insatiable appetite for life was felt by all who knew him, and his warmth will carry on in those whom he loved dearest. We ask you to please respect the family's wish for privacy as they mourn the loss of their beloved son and brother," it added.
As of writing, the location of his death is still unknown, as per the media outlet, the representatives for the Los Angeles Police Department were unable to confirm if Perdomo's death occurred in Los Angeles when reached by Variety on Saturday.
Perdomo recently starred in Prime Video's Gen V in the role of Andre Anderson, a popular student and Luke's best friend with magnetic manipulation capabilities. Production on the second season has been delayed following the actor's tragic death.
Before this, he also played the lead role of Ambrose Spellman in Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa's Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, marking Perdomo's first significant role. He was also awarded a BAFTA "Breakthrough Brit" award for his work on the Netflix series.
Gen V producers mourned the passing of the actor, describing Perdomo as a "kind, lovely, and talented" performer.
"We can't quite wrap our heads around this. For those of us who knew him and worked with him, Chance was always charming and smiling, an enthusiastic force of nature, an incredibly talented performer, and more than anything else, just a very kind, lovely person."
The joint statement continued, "Even writing about him in the past tense doesn't make sense. We are so sorry for Chance's family, and we are grieving the loss of our friend and colleague. Hug your loved ones tonight."
Likewise, Amazon MGM Studios and Sony Pictures Television also extend their "heartfelt thoughts and support to Chance's family and all who loved him at this difficult time."

The late actor, born on Oct. 19, 1996, in Los Angeles but raised in Southampton, England, also appeared in Midsomer Murders, Killed by My Debt, Hetty Feather, and Shakespeare & Hathaway: Private Investigators, young adult film franchise After, and critically acclaimed sci-fi podcast series, The Cipher.
In 2018, the BBC docudrama Killed by My Debt earned him a nomination for a BAFTA for the Outstanding Actor category for playing the true life story of Jerome Rogers, who died by suicide at the age of 20 by having accrued debts of over £1,000 or more than P70,000.
