Former Miss Ukraine joins her country's resistance to fight Russian troops
Former Miss Ukraine has traded her tiara for army boots and an assault rifle as she joins her country's resistance in defending her country from foreign threats.
Anastasiia Lenna, who represented Ukraine in the 2015 Miss Grand International competition, is one of the tens of thousands of women who volunteered to fight Russian army aiming to invade Ukraine.
She posted an image of herself on Instagram all geared up, captioning it with the date "22.02.22."
Lenna has been sharing updates on her Instagram Highlights titled "No War."
In one Instagram Story, she shared a photo of uniformed people with firearms and the caption: "Everyone who crosses the Ukrainian border with the intent to invade will be killed!"
Another post said: "Our (Ukraine's) army is fighting in such a way that NATO should apply for entry into Ukraine."
The public relations manager also called for an end to the war and appealed for international support.
"The invaders will die on our Ukrainian lands! Wait and see!" the caption wrote accompanying a video of her at a firing range.
"Please, share more information about this situation! Support Ukraine! Stop russian aggression! You can help us!"
She continued saying anyone can join the defense of security in Europe and show support to Ukraine.
"Anyone who wants to join the defense of security in Europe and the world can come and stand side by side with Ukrainians against the invaders of the 21st century. Ask your embassy."
Though Anastasiia may be a new recruit,
she’s clearly comfortable with firearms and has previously shared photos of herself hunting and playing in elaborate AirSoft gun games in full fatigues.
On Feb. 24, Russian president Vladimir Putin announced he is launching a "special military operations" across the Ukrainian border. Since the attack, people are jetting to flee Ukraine due to the horrifying situation in the country.
