Taylor Swift, BTS, and more are music's top global money makers for 2021
Other than bagging awards and dominating music charts, Taylor Swift is the music’s top earner having an estimated $65.8 million from her sales and streaming income.
On Dec. 29, Billboard reported the music's top global earners, revealing Taylor Swift in the number one spot. Swift made history by releasing her re-recorded songs from Fearless and Red albums and bonus tracks in 2021. In her Midnights album, not only she won big at the 2022 People’s Choice Awards, but she made history once again to be the only artist to dominate the entire billboard’s top 10.
She also was able to secure three records under this album alone, according to the Guinness Book of World Records. Swift got the record for having the most streamed album on Spotify in 24 hours (184.6 million streams), most day-one streams of an album on Spotify (184.6 million streams), and most streamed act on Spotify in 24 hours (228 million streams).
Other than Taylor Swift, artists included in the list is The Rolling Stones, who have been active in the industry for six decades with $55.5 million total earnings. The band recently had their Sixty tour.
Following the group is Harry Styles who has a total of $41.3 million in earnings, he also got the most streamed track on Spotify in 24 hours (male) record. His single As It Was placed in the number one spot on Billboard Top 100 for 15 weeks.
Earning the fourth spot is the South Korean boy band BTS, which has a total of $38.4 million in earnings. The group also won a big People’s Choice Award with The Group of 2022, The Concert Tour of 2022 with their Permission to Dance on stage tour, and The Collaboration of 2022 with the song Left and Right with Charlie Puth.
