Maggie Wilson asks for help after men 'illegally' entered home to 'padlock' property, allegedly harassed family
Model Maggie Wilson cried to the government and social media for help, after representatives of a real estate company owned by her estranged husband Victor Consunji, as well as a barangay officials, allegedly went to her home in Taguig to "padlock" the property.
In an Instagram video, Wilson said men from Victor Consunji Development Corporation (VCDC) and DMCI entered her home "illegally" with no notice, no warrant, and no proper paperwork. The barangay officials were also wielding batons.
She wasn't present during the incident as she's on a business trip abroad, but her sister, five-year-old cousin, and housekeeper back there were allegedly "subjected to harassment and intimidation."
“They entered my home and took videos of personal belongings of those of myself and my family illegally," Wilson said in her video.
She said the men claimed the property was owned by DMCI, despite her explaining "on multiple occasions" that a contract signed by VCDC Vice President Bernie Mendoza showed otherwise.
Her family also showed the property's contract to the representatives, only for them "laugh very loudly" before leaving.
On Instagram Story, Wilson also said their electricity was cut, despite other houses in the compound having lights.
“I urge our government and others to please step in and do something immediately," she said. "I plead with you and the online community to help me raise awareness that this kind of human rights harassment happens in the Philippines, especially to women day in and day out."
Her legal cousel DivinaLaw also issued a statement, saying the harassment experienced by Wilson's family has caused them severe trauma and humiliation.
"This blatant display of power and influence deserves the strongest condemnation. No one is above the law," Wilson's lawyers said.
The VCDC and DMCI have yet to issue a statement on the matter.
Wilson and Consunji were married for 11 years. In September 2021, she announced that they made the "difficult decision" to separate.
