The Philippines has logged its lowest single-day COVID-19 case count for the year on Nov. 16 due to a dip in testing output.

With 849 new infections, the total number of active cases in the country is 25,464 with 2,393 new recoveries and 99 deaths. The nationwide tally is now 2,819,341.

The Department of Health told reporters that the low case output was due to the "weekly dip of testing output due to weekend encoding of positive cases to the COVID-19 Document Repository System."

The agency reported that all laboratories are operational but six laboratories have also failed to submit data.

In the past 14 days, the contribution of these six labs make up 0.8% of all samples tested and 0.7% of all positive

The country's lowest single-day tally was last logged on Dec. 28, 2020 where there were 766 fresh infections.
