GMA Network's Mike Enriquez to take medical leave of absence
GMA Network on Dec. 13 announced that its senior radio and television anchor Mike Enriquez will take a medical leave of absence.
In a statement, GMA said Enriquez, who's also the concurrent RGMA Network president, will undergo a medical procedure "that will require hospital confinement and, afterwards, a minimum of three months isolation period as advised by his doctor."
He is expected to be back at work "in time for GMA's massive Eleksyon 2022 coverage," the network added.
GMA Network chairman and chief executive officer Felipe Gozon said they support the "24 Oras" anchor and "Imbestigador" host's decision to undergo the procedure that he needs.
"We ask for everyone’s prayers and we wish him Godspeed," Gozon said in a statement. "We look forward to welcoming Mike back as soon as he is cleared to return to work.”
In 2018, Enriquez had also filed for a medical leave for his heart bypass surgery, during which he also bared that he's being treated for his kidney disease.
