Century Park Hotel extends job offers to displaced Sofitel Manila staff
In the wake of Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila's upcoming closure, Century Park Hotel is extending a helping hand by offering job opportunities to their displaced staff.
"With the setting of the sun on Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila, a sunrise is coming," it wrote on Facebook.
"Century Park Hotel invites our displaced colleagues in the hospitality industry to start a new chapter with us," it added.
The hotel said that those interested may send their resumes to [email protected].
The move was met with praise from customers on Facebook.
"Sad to [hear] that Sofitel Phil Plaza will stop operation. As [a] former Employee of Century Park Hotel I'm happy that our hotel is still in operation despite so many challenges during the pandemic, labor and economic problems in our country. We are lucky that the owners and the management who are very supportive for the benefits of the employees," one commenter said.
Another one said: "A very nice gesture Century Park Hotel Manila. I also hope others will follow as we are all living in uncertain times. More power!"
"Very nice gesture of Century Park Hotel and LTG," wrote one more user.
Sofitel Manila on May 10 told PhilSTAR L!fe that the hotel "will close and cease operations starting July 1, 2024."
"We are deeply grateful for the unwavering support and patronage of our stakeholders, employees, and guests who have been instrumental in this long journey," it added.
Customers who have reservations until the end of June will still be accommodated.
