After winning the gold medal in vault, Carlos Yulo bagged the men’s parallel bars silver medal at the 2021 FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Championships on Sunday, Oct. 24, at Kitakyushu City Gymnasium in Japan.

The Filipino gymnast scored a total average of 15.300 (8.900 execution and 6.400 difficulty) after performing third at the finals.

Yulo initially eclipsed Japanese gymnasts Daiki Hashimoto and Kaya Kazuma. However, he was topped by China’s Hu Xuwei who received a score of 15.466 after performing sixth.

The parallel bars finals wrapped up Yulo’s journey at the 2021 FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Championships.

Previously, Yulo missed a podium finish as he finished fifth at the men’s floor exercise finals.

Even so, the 21-year-old gymnast made history as the first Filipino gymnast to take home world championship medals in a single tournament event.
