Mother of missing beauty queen Catherine Camilon: 'Ikaw ay aming hinihintay na'
The mother of Miss Grand Philippines 2023 candidate Catherine Camilon, who had been reported missing, is calling on her daughter to come home.
Rose Camilon told TeleRadyo that Catherine went to Batangas City from her hometown Tuy for a meeting with an online media company where the beauty queen served as a talent.
Rose said Catherine was in touch until around 3:30 a.m. on Oct. 13.
She was last seen on Oct. 12.
Rose said she felt Catherine was going through something despite not opening up about it.
"Ikaw ay aming hinihintay na. Saan ka man nandodoon, ikaw ay umuwi na dito sa atin," Rose said. "Kung ano man ang mayroon sa'yo ngayon, umuwi ka at ikaw ay aming maiintindihan."
In a Facebook post on Oct. 13, Catherine's sister Chin-Chin called on the beauty queen's colleague who was with her the night before she went missing. Chin-Chin said Catherine called at 8 p.m. on Oct. 12, but her phone went dead the next morning.
Chin-Chin wrote more posts about her sister, including her car's model and plate number.
She also shared a poster indicating Catherine's age (26), height (5'6"), and their mother's mobile number.
It's not yet clear whether the Camilons already sought the help of authorities.
Catherine joined Miss Grand Philippines last July, during which Nikki De Moura of Cagayan de Oro won the crown.
Aside from being a beauty queen, Catherine is also a public school teacher in Tuy.
