LIST: Malls offering temporary shelter, free overnight parking amid severe tropical storm Kristine
The now severe tropical storm Kristine has affected Filipinos as it continues to move northwestward.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said that the storm will make landfall over Isabela on Wednesday night, if not early Thursday morning, Oct. 24.
Many places in the Bicol region are still submerged in flood waters and the threat of lahar flow from the Mayon volcano.
Many shopping malls are offering help through free overnight parking, WiFi, charging stations, and restrooms. If you need a safe place, here is the list of malls you can go to.
SM Malls
Several SM Mall branches open their doors for those looking for temporary shelter from heavy rainfall and flooding caused by the tropical storm.
They waive overnight parking charges and offer free WiFi and charging stations. A help desk for assistance is also available for the evacuees.
The branches include SM City Sorsogon and SM City Daet. Meanwhile, SM City Naga had to close as the storm had affected the mall.
Robinsons
Robinsons Naga offers safety for those in need as they open their doors for temporary shelter and free usage of overnight parking and charging stations.
Vista Mall
"Vista Mall Naga will accommodate those who wish to seek temporary shelter from heavy rain and flooding caused by Typhoon "Kristine," it said on Facebook.
The mall will also provide overnight parking, restrooms, free WiFi, and power outlets for charging.
Ayala Malls
Ayala Malls Legazpi halted its operations on Oct. 23, for the safety of its employees, merchants, and mall-goers, but its doors are open for those who need comfortable space to wait out the storm.
Yashano Mall
"Our mall remains open to assist you during regular mall hours," said the mall on Facebook.
It will provide free charging stations daily for those in need to power their devices.
