Marina Summers to perform at Miss Universe Philippines coronation
Miss Universe Philippines, it's summertime!
RuPaul's Drag Race: UK vs. The World top 4 queen Marina Summers announced that she will be taking the stage at the local pageant's coronation night.
"Marina Summers, Philippines!!!!" she wrote on social media.
"I’m sooooo thrilled to announce that I will be performing at The Coronation of Miss Universe Philippines 2024 on May 22, 2024."
Fans and her fellow drag queens from Drag Race Philippines and the international show shared their excitement over Marina's upcoming performance.
"GANON!!!" Eva Le Queen wrote.
"Oh my god!! Sensational! World domination," commented Australian drag queen Hannah Conda.
"Marina vs. the Universe!!!! Smackdown with [Michelle Dee] pls! ems," wrote Drag Race Philippines season 2 winner Captivating Katkat.
Marina was recently in the second season of Drag Race UK vs. The World where she finished in the top 4 and earned three challenge wins. The sole Filipina queen in the season was taken out in the final four lip sync for the crown. UK queen Tia Kofi was crowned the winner.
"I have crossed the oceans to be where I am now. And it has been one of the most life changing things that has happened to me. I am forever grateful for this opportunity to share Marina and the beauty of my country to all of you," Marina wrote on Instagram after the show's season finale aired.
Meanwhile, the Miss Universe Philippines 2024 coronation night is happening on May 22 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
Michelle Dee will crown her successor, who will eventually go on to represent the Philippines at the 73rd Miss Universe pageant in Mexico on Sept. 28.
