Aimee Marcos, the youngest daughter of Ferdinand Marcos Sr. and Imelda Marcos, has appeared in her first public interview since her brother was sworn in as President of the Philippines.

In a guesting with News 5's MJ Marfori four days after Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.'s inauguration, the 43-year-old musician shared how she joined the Uniteam campaign in Region 10.

Aimee was in Northern Mindanao from February to May campaigning for her brother and Vice President Sara Duterte: "We were trying to ensure that the message he was trying to say during the campaign was being heard."

Similar to her sister, Irene, Aimee is a private citizen. She is the founder of her digital consultation firm, ARM Digital Consultancy, and shared that it would have to take her closest family members to make her join politics.

"Unless it comes from the immediate family, if they ask me to do so, no. They are the only ones I'll say yes to and even then it will be with a couple of conditions," she said.

"I don't think that will ever be an option, I'm not interested in [politics]. I'll leave it to people who are better at it."

During her message to the Filipino people, Imee thanked the Marcos family's "haters" and asked that they be open to hearing both sides of the story.

"Taos-pusong salamat sa suporta niyo sa aming lahat, sa suporta niyo kay kuya. Sobrang nakakatuwa yung outpour ng pagmamahal niyo sa amin ngayong eleksyon," she began.

"Even the bashers, even the haters, you guys are there to make us stronger, to challenge us, and stuff. So I thank you for that as well," Aimee said. "There should always be two sides of a conversation. Hindi dapat nag-iisang side lang, boring naman 'nun masyado."

"Pero sana naman we can talk about stuff without throwing hate around so much. Let's talk about it in a proper way. Okay naman 'yun e, diba?"

"We all have our own perspective on stuff. Sana you can hear out ours na," she added.

According to the World Bank and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, the Marcoses allegedly embezzled as much as $5 to $10 billion from the country during the reign of Marcos Sr.

About "Little Aimee"

Aimee was adopted by the Marcos family when she was a little girl. She was nicknamed "Little Aimee" by the former president and was a teen when the Marcos family was exiled out of the country amid the People Power Revolution.

Similar to her siblings, Aimee also studied in England. After graduating from Ateneo de Manila University with a degree in English and Literature, she earned her post-graduate degree from the University of London majoring in Media and Culture.

She has since been a digital marketing professional, setting up her own firm in 2014. In her spare time, she also helms a Daily Tribune column titled Thoughts from an Armchair.

In a column titled Hiatus released on May 28, Aimee chronicled her time campaigning for Marcos Jr.

"With this campaign, I really got involved," she wrote. I supposed being further away from the epicenter of the campaign was a big factor, as I wanted to help in my little way and contribute to what could possibly be this country’s future."

During Marcos Jr.'s June 30 Inauguration, Aimee was present and wore Puoy Quinones creations for the inauguration proper and the inauguration ball.
