Andrea Brillantes, Liza Soberano, BINI Aiah, among Filipinas in 'The 100 Most Beautiful Faces of 2024' list
The Philippines continues to dominate the global stage in beauty, and this year's edition of The 100 Most Beautiful Faces is no exception—seven Filipinas have earned a coveted spot in the ranking for 2024.
In the annual list published by TC Candler and The Independent Critics, Kapamilya star Andrea Brillantes ranked first. This is a big jump from 2023's edition, where she ranked 16th.
The Senior High star reacted to the recognition in a video message, saying, "Napakalaking honor po[...] This isn't just about beauty, it is about confidence and uniqueness and embracing who you are. Sana ma-inspire kayo to celebrate your own kind of beauty," she added.
Other Pinays that made the list are K-pop idol Gehlee of UNIS and BINI's Aiah Arceta, who clinched the 82nd and 88th spots, respectively.
Gen Z star Belle Mariano was also among the most beautiful faces of 2024, ranking 52nd after placing 71st in 2023.
Ivana Alawi (69th), Liza Soberano (31st), and Janine Gutierrez (28th) were also part of the annual ranking.
In case you don't know, Alawi ranked 6th in 2022, while Soberano topped the list in 2017. For Gutierrez, she ranked 45th in 2023.
Meanwhile, international artists who made the top 10 are BLACKPINK member Jisoo, Canadian chess player Andrea Botez, Portuguese actress Alba Baptista, South Korean singer-actress Nancy Jewel McDonie, model-influencer Dasha Taran, BLACKPINK member Rosé, singer-model Sitala, actress-model Sydney Sweeney, and supermodel Jasmine Tookes.
Filipinos in 'Most Handsome Faces of 2024'
As the global spotlight shines bright on Filipina talent and beauty, several Filipino men have also earned a place in The 100 Most Handsome Faces of 2024 list.
HORI7ON's Kyler Chua (21st) and SB19's Justin De Dios (41st) are the only Filipinos in this year's list. This is Kyler's second time on the list after ranking 27th in 2023, while Justin's first time on the list.
Thor star Chris Hemsworth is hailed as the most handsome face of 2024.
TC Candler and The Independent Critics have published the world's 100 Most Beautiful Faces list annually since 1990. It is "widely considered to be the most internationally recognized and prestigious list of its kind. "
According to its website, the list aims to "inform and broaden public opinion" about beauty.
"The List is not a popularity contest and is most definitely not country-specific. It is not about the sexiest body or the most famous celebrity. Rather, the list attempts to inform & broaden public opinion instead of reflecting it. You will find superstars and new stars, global sensations and relative unknowns," it said.
