BPI to GCash transfer fee increases to P10 starting March 1
Loading GCash through the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) will be increased from P5 to P10, starting March 1.
In an advisory, BPI said these charges will only affect loading GCash and will not impact the cost of loading other services via the BPI app, including Maya, which is owned by PLDT, the competitor of GCash's owner, Globe Telecom.
Although the bank is part of the Ayala Group alongside GCash, BPI has its own e-wallet called Vybe.
Here’s BPI’s updated list of services that can be loaded via BPI and their corresponding fees:
E-wallet
- Gcash – P10 (starting March 1)
- Maya – free
- Vybe – free
Transportation
- Autosweep – P13
- Easytrip – P15
Others
- Beep – P10
- GetGo – P10
- Dibz Pay – free
BPI started charging a transfer fee of P5 for cash-ins to GCash on Oct. 2, 2023, citing 'increasing costs.' Previously, this service was free.
