LIST: Unconventional rewards that Carlos Yulo will get for his Olympics double gold

There's nothing Carlos Yulo doesn't deserve after achieving a historic double gold at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

In case you missed it, the Filipino athlete dominated both the men's vault finals event and the gymnastics men's floor exercise finals, making him the second Filipino athlete to ever win a gold medal at the Olympics after weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Following his back-to-back victories, Yulo will be showered with a wide array of prizes once he comes home, which include a three-bedroom condo unit, house and lot, millions of cash from the government and other supporters, and more.

However, there were some who promised rewards and incentives that were not like the others, to the point that they even piqued the curiosity of foreign media. Here are the most unconventional prizes that Yulo can get for bringing home the gold at the Olympics:

Free wedding performance

It looks like Yulo no longer has to go through the hassle of scouring for a good wedding singer if he ever decides to tie the knot as OPM band Moonstar88 has offered a free performance of their hit songs on his wedding.

"Sagot na namin ang tugtugan sa kasal mo, Caloy!" the band offered.

"Dahil di ka nahihilo, nalilito sa routine mo..." they joked, referencing their 2007 song Migraine, before quipping, "Uy no pressure Caloy! Kahit umabot pa ng 2088."

Yulo is currently in a relationship with his girlfriend of four years, Chloe San Jose.

Free colon checkup
Dr. Virgil Lo "pinoygastro" / Facebook

Should Yulo ever feel the need to have his colon checked, Filipino gastroenterologist Virgilio Lo has got him covered as he is offering free consultations and colonoscopies for life.

"Congrats Caloy for inspiring us to be the best version of ourselves! Kung kailangan mo ng gastro in the future, I am offering my services and endoscopic procedures for free," Lo stated in his congratulatory post.

"Need na magpa-colonoscopy kapag 45 years old or above kahit na walang nararamdaman to prevent colon cancer by removing adenomatous polyps," he added.

A colonoscopy is a procedure that lets your healthcare provider check the inside of your entire colon or large intestine.

Free ambulance transport
Lifeline 16-911 / Facebook

In case of emergencies, ambulance service Lifeline 16-911 will be there for the gold medalist as they have granted him a lifetime membership to its services.

"Congratulations Carlos Yulo on your astounding achievements in the Olympics: Gold in Men's Floor Exercise and Gold in Men's Vault. You have made all Filipinos proud with your hard work and dedication," Lifeline 16-911 stated.

"We would like to extend our gratitude for your service to the country and commemorate you as a Lifeline Lifetime Member. While you're back home in the Philippines, rest assured that we've got you covered with Free Emergency Response for life," they added.

Being a Lifeline member gives Yulo free use of their ambulance rescue service as well as onboard equipment and supplies, full endorsement to the hospital, access to medical telephone advisories, and more.

Free plantable toothbrush

Oral health is wealth, after all, and if Yulo needs a new toothbrush for his dental needs, environmental organization Bambuhay is offering him a lifetime supply of their plantable toothbrush made from green gold-bamboo.

According to their website, every part of the toothbrush is said to be made of plant-based materials that can be planted to serve as fertilizer, with each one having a seed embedded in the bamboo handle.

Other unique offers

Other entities have gone with the flow and offered their services that have definitely tickled the funny bone of social media users.

Dentist Serinna Santos appeared to joke that if Yulo ever needs to have one of his teeth extracted, she can do so for free at her clinic.

"Ang tagumpay mo ay tagumpay ng buong sanlibutan (gymnast ka rin, gurl?) TREW?! At dahil napabilib mo kami sa iyong talento, may FREE UNLI BUNOT ka sa Selorio-Santos Dental Clinic. Ewan ko na lang kung hindi ka pa magsawa. GOW!!" she captioned her post.

"Bunutin na 'yan lahat kahit 'di pa bulok. Gow!" she joked.

The Iloilo Provincial Health Office had also launched a campaign offering free no-scalpel vasectomies in the province, using Yulo as a poster boy to promote the reproductive health services, but it has since removed the gymnast from the ads.
