After winning lottery in 2021, construction worker hits jackpot again
After winning the lottery in 2021, a construction worker from North Carolina hits the jackpot again this March.
ABC News reported that Pharris Frank, 41, won $1 million (P54.2 million) in July 2021. He and his then-fiancée saved some of his winnings at the time, while also allotting money for their dream wedding.
Two years later, he tried his luck again and, voila, won $2 million (P108.5 million). He will take home about $855,000 (P46.4 million) via a lump sum option and after taxes.
"I called my wife and told her, 'I did it again,'" Frank is quoted as saying.
The couple intends to use the winnings for a vacation.
Frank told North Carolina Education Lottery that a day before winning for the second time, he was talking to his friend and had a feeling he'll win again.
"It's crazy because the day before I won, my buddy was asking me how it felt to win $1 million," he's quoted as saying. "I told him that I was going to double it."
"I didn't know if I was dreaming or not," he added. "I was just in shock for a while."
