The Supreme Court has released the results of the 2023 Bar examination.

According to the list released by the SC nearly three months after the September Bar exams, out of 10,387 test-takers, 3,812 passed, making for a 36.77 percent passing rate, as noted by 2023 Bar chair SC Associate Justice Ramon Paul Hernando.

Ephraim Porciuncula Bie, a University of Santo Tomas graduate, clinched the top spot with an 89.2625% grade.

The SC also recognized the top law schools based on candidates' performance, with Ateneo De Manila University leading with an impressive 94.08% passing rate and more than 100 candidates.

It was followed by San Beda University with a 92.20% rate, the University of San Carlos with 90.91%, the University of the Philippines with 89.45%, and the University of Santo Tomas, with 85.25%.

During a press conference, Hernando reminded aspiring lawyers that their efforts were "absolute."

"There are things we cannot change, but I would like you to believe that the efforts that you have expended to pass the Bar are absolute. Dreams shall come true in their own time. Perhaps, and for most of you, that time is now," he said.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. congratulated the 2023 Bar passers with a short note on X.

"As you begin your unique paths, stand firm in upholding integrity and remain true to the reasons that called you to practice law. Remain united in ensuring that every Filipino has the benefit of a fair and equitable justice system," he said.

This year's passers will have their oath-taking and roll-signing ceremonies at the SMX Convention Center Manila in Pasay City on Dec. 22.
