'Never Again': Celebrities mark 49th Martial Law anniversary
Despite the risk of reaping online blowback due to the growing army of trolls that spread lies and misinformation about Martial Law, a number of celebrities still spoke up about the country's dark era.
Amid the seemingly growing din of noise that has been obscuring fact from fiction, here are a few public personalities who chose to use their platform to help Filipinos remember what former dictator Ferdinand Marcos did 49 years ago.
Angel Locsin
Angel Locsin has long been very vocal in a number of sociopolitical issues, not being afraid of speaking for issues she feels strongly about.
In one of her recent Instagram posts, she posted with a caption, “Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.” –George Santayana with the tags, #NeverAgain, #NeverForget, and #MarcosIsNotAHero.
Bianca Gonzalez-Intal
After being tagged by people who were asking for her views on the interview of Toni Gonzaga, Gonzalez cleared the air with a tweet saying that her stand has been "#NeverAgain" and that she chose to reach out privately with her friend regarding the issue.

Gonzalez also made another tweet to a link that seeks to inform the youth about Martial Law. “Para sa mga kabataan who want to know more, hindi gawa gawa ang kwento ng mga Martial Law victims. Totoong tao sila, mga anak, kapatid, magulang, lolo't lola,” said Gonzalez.

Like his friend, Bianca, Robi Domingo has also been vocal about his political views. In one of his recent tweets, he urges the Filipino youth to never forget the history – so events like Martial Law would never happen again.
