Honoring frontliner heroes
Delivering Christmas joy to our 'kuya' riders
The almost-daily wait for parcels from our favorite online shops, fast-food delivery while working overtime at the office, ride-hailing to avoid the traffic gridlock—even before the country went on quarantine, we’ve become somewhat dependent on our kuya riders. And when the pandemic struck, they’ve become frontliner heroes, taking risks outdoors so we could go on with our lives smoothly.
To show their appreciation for these modern-day heroes and in the spirit of the Christmas season, PLDT Home teamed up with six influencers—Binibining Pilipinas Grand International 2016 Nicole Cordoves, husband and wife Jaco and Janelle Benin, sportscaster Jinno Rufino, DJ and host Riki Flores, online influencer Nikki Yanong, YouTube content creators Nicole and Faith Torres and Madam Ely, and martial artist Janice Lizardo—to become Santa Claus for a day.
Each of them booked three rides to deliver huge Christmas boxes and some groceries to, surprise, the riders who accepted the app requests.
“They thought it’s best to pay it forward by rewarding some riders who they booked and surprising them with their own Noche Buena package,” said PLDT Home.
As expected, the riders arrived at the pickup point without any idea that the packages were actually for them and their families.

This holiday season, remember to thank the people who made our lives easier this year, starting with our kuya riders—this pandemic's modern-day heroes.
