Here's how you can help Michelle Dee land in the semi-finals of Miss Universe 2023
Ready your thumbs, Pinoy pageant fans, as the online voting for Miss Universe 2023 has begun, giving the country's bet, Michelle Dee, more chances of securing a spot in the semi-finals.
In case you didn't know, the Miss Universe Organization have officially opened public voting for its global pageant on Oct. 6 allowing supporters the opportunity to back their respective country's contestants.
Reigning Miss Universe, R’Booney Gabriel, invited the public to cast their votes in a video posted on the Miss Universe Instagram account on Friday.
“Hi, Universe. We’re so close to the 72nd Miss Universe competition, and I can’t believe the time is finally here. The good news is, you can help me crown my successor," she said.
The American titleholder then encouraged people to vote and increase their candidates' chances of progressing to the semi-finals.
"We've just kicked off the voting for this year's competition, and all you need to do is download the Miss Universe app to support your favorite delegate in reaching the semi-finals of the 72nd Miss Universe competition. The first vote is complimentary," she said.
To cast your vote using the Miss Universe app, simply access the "Delegates" section, locate your chosen country (e.g., Miss Universe Philippines), and tap "Vote for (country name) Now."
Alternatively, users can click on the "Vote" tab, scroll to find the photo of their country's representative, and cast their vote accordingly.
While voting can be done multiple times, subsequent votes will require payment through the platform.
Three votes cost $1 (P57), 15 votes are $4.99 (P283), 40 votes are $9.99 (P567), 85 votes are $19.99 (P1,133), 220 votes are $49.99 (P2,834), 450 votes are $99.99 (P5,670), and a thousand votes are $199.99 (P11,340).
Philippine representative Michelle Dee also shared a video on her Instagram, filmed by photographer Dennus Sulit, to mark the commencement of online voting for Miss Universe.
The 72nd edition of Miss Universe is set to take place on Nov. 18 in El Salvador. The country last hosted the pageant in 1975, when Anne Marie Pohtamo from Finland claimed the crown.
The upcoming pageant promises to be memorable for several reasons. This year's contestant lineup, for one, will include married women and mothers actively competing for the coveted title.
Moreover, Pakistan will be making its debut appearance, and numerous countries, including Denmark, Bangladesh, Egypt, Hungary, Norway, and Kazakhstan, among others, are returning to the competition through their respective representatives.
