The upcoming Filipino movie A Very Good Girl, starring Dolly De Leon and Kathryn Bernardo, will be screened in United States theaters starting Oct. 6.

Production company Star Cinema announced by uploading a new poster featuring Bernardo and De Leon as they float in the pool.

It also shared a link to American entertainment news website The Wrap's report with the headline, "Filipino Drama 'A Very Good Girl' Moves Up US Release Date.'" The report states the movie "will now be released in select theaters Oct. 6 — a week earlier than previously announced."

"Our wildest dreams of having US screenings start earlier than expected!" Star Cinema wrote in the caption.

A Very Good Girl's official logline reads, “After a heartless firing triggers a chain of unfortunate events, Philo (Bernardo) plots meticulous revenge against the retail mogul, Mother Molly (De Leon), aiming to dismantle her empire and seize the ultimate payback. This time, there is no mercy.”

It's described as a dark comedy with "plenty of sass and class."

It will hit Philippine cinemas on Sept. 27.

Other cast members include Jake Ejercito, Angel Aquino, Chie Filomeno, Donna Cariaga, Gillian Vicencio, Ana Abad Santos, Kaori Oinuma, Althea Ruedas, Nathania Guerrero, and Nour Hooshmand.

The film is directed by Petersen Vargas and written by Marianne Dominique Mancol, Daniel Saniana, and Jumbo Albano.

De Leon rose to global fame for her role in the class satire Triangle of Sadness. She portrayed Abigail, a cleaning staff turned captain of the ship for the uberwealthy.

Her breakout performance earned her over 15 international nods, including the 80th Golden Globe Awards, the 48th Los Angeles Film Critics Association Awards, and The Satellite Awards 2022.

Last June, De Leon got an invitation to join the Academy of Motion Pictures and Sciences, the 10,000-plus member US organization behind the annual Academy Awards or Oscars, which is considered the highest accolade in the film industry.

Bernardo, meanwhile, is considered among the most successful actors of her generation, starring in the two highest-grossing Filipino films of all time The Hows of Us and Hello, Love, Goodbye.

She's best known for her roles in teleseryes Mara Clara, Princess and I, Got to Believe, Pangako Sa 'Yo, and La Luna Sangre.
