Attending the FIBA World Cup opening? Here's how to get free rides to Philippine Arena on Aug. 25
Basketball's most anticipated sporting event of the year, the 2023 FIBA World Cup, is soon to arrive in the Philippines. And for attendees of its opening event, transportation will be one less thing to worry about as there will be free buses you can ride to watch the tournament live.
The 2023 FIBA World Cup opening ceremony will take place on Aug. 25 at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan. To help basketball fans outside of the city get to the big event, the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) announced that it will be providing 400 49-seater buses to transport fans to the venue.
The seats to these air-conditioned point-to-point buses are free for all 2023 FIBA World Cup opening ceremony ticket holders. There will be will be picked-up and drop-off points in selected malls within Metro Manila, Bulacan, and Pampanga.

Based on the guidelines SBP released, free rides are scheduled to depart as early as 11 a.m. though the first game for the day starts at 4 p.m.
Only fans who have already reserved their tickets will be accommodated since they’ll be asked to present their tickets before mounting the bus. You can go to https://bit.ly/3rNFIR4 to choose your preferred pick-up location and time of departure.
FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 merchandise will be distributed to riders, such as fan clappers, scarves , LED wristbands, and rally towels.
Meanwhile, those who have yet to purchase tickets for the event can do so at ticketnet.com.ph.
In line with this much-awaited sports tournament, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has declared the suspension of classes in public schools and government offices on Aug. 25 in order to encourage more Filipinos to watch the event.
