MVP group to start free vaccination of employees and family members by the third quarter
The MVP group of companies will start the free vaccination of all its employees and family members by the third quarter of the year after securing a supply deal with drug manufacturers Moderna and AstraZeneca.
Group chair Manuel "Manny" V. Pangilinan has announced that they have ordered enough doses for more than 300,000 of the MVP Group of Companies' “employees, qualified dependents, and household members”.
In a letter addressed to the company, Pangilinan shared that the procurement of the vaccines was made possible by MVP Group's Vaccine Task Force composed of “the most knowledgeable and trustworthy doctors" from their hospital groups.
"We will shoulder the costs for our employees and ensure adequate supplies for all of you," said Pangilinan.
Pangilinan said vaccinations are expected to start by the third quarter, "if not sooner," and will extend if necessary to 2022.
Pangilinan said "this effort will be administered as inclusively as possible, and conducted in accordance with the relevant protocols prescribed by the National Government, the LGUs, and the vaccine suppliers."
"There remain several formidable problems to resolve, but the first step to solving many of them is the same: the successful rollout of safe and effective vaccines,” Pangilinan furthered.
Companies in the MVP Group include First Pacific, Metro Pacific Investments, Metro Pacific Tollways, Metro Pacific Hospitals, PLDT Inc., Smart Communications, Meralco, Maynilad Water Services, Philex Mining Corp., TV5, MediaQuest Holdings, and the PhilStar Media Group.
